A message to our community regarding COVID-19: Nu'u Computers is an essential business and continues to provide the same quality technical support to our community as always. Most of our services can be provided remotely and thus our on-site visits have been minimized. As our community transitions to primarily remote work, we are here to support them.

Hello and Welcome

Hello, and welcome to the first educational piece by Nu’u Computers – Your One Stop Shop For Worry Free IT.

Today, we are going to be starting a series of posts that are designed to help you understand computers better, and to be a wiser consumer of services like those we offer. We want to help you with your computer needs, but we also want to help you learn as much (or as little) as you want about computers, networks, and other information technology. So, without further ado, let’s get started!

What’s A Virus?

A computer virus is a very small piece of code (computer program) that runs on your computer by attaching itself to a legitimate program such as windows, excel, or even your internet explorer. Some of these programs can actually replicate themselves inside your computer each time they are run by attaching themselves to another normal program on your computer.

Next week, we will be discussing the different kinds of viruses, the differences between them and malware/adware, and, if we have the bandwidth, will be sharing some tricks that the computer guy will never tell you!
